New KWM Vice Chair, Stefan Carney

Stefan is the Senior Executive Assistant to the Secretary of the Methodist Conference and brings a wealth of experience from careers in healthcare, business, Parliament and the Church. Alongside his professional roles, he serves as a Director of the Council for Professional Chaplains and Pastoral Carers.

A member of Larkfield Methodist Church and a Preacher on Note, Stefan is passionate about the connection between faith and working life.

In his own time, he is currently studying with the University of Aberdeen for a Master's degree in Christianity and the Visual Arts and enjoys opera, theatre, museums and the arts."

Looking ahead, Stefan hopes to help Kent Workplace Mission build on its strong foundations and deepen its engagement with workplaces across the county.

“Work is where many people spend much of their lives, facing both opportunities and challenges. I believe Kent Workplace Mission has an important role in supporting, encouraging and accompanying people in those settings, regardless of their faith background.

“As Vice-Chair, I hope to support the development of strong partnerships with churches, chaplains, employers and community organisations, helping to raise awareness of workplace mission and the difference it can make. I am particularly passionate about encouraging Christians to see their daily work as an integral part of their calling and witness.

“Over time, I would like to see Kent Workplace Mission continue to grow its visibility, broaden its reach and strengthen its capacity to serve people where faith, work and everyday life meet.”
